Water Fun

Whether in, on or around the lake, Talsperre Pöhl offers a diverse range of opportunities to discover the reservoir’s refreshing water. This can be through sport – surfing, sailing and swimming – or in a more relaxing manner, such as (sun)bathing, taking a cruise or climbing aboard a pedalo.

Sailing

Talsperre Pöhl has sufficient water, wind and regattas for all sailing enthusiasts, whether beginners or experienced pros. Throughout the watersport season, novices and experienced sailors alike can hoist their sails out on the reservoir, which covers an area of over four square kilometres, and sail on the wind across the “Vogtländische Meer” (Vogtland Sea).

A slipway is available at the Jocketa sunbathing area for recreational watersports.

There are plenty of places to moor boats around the reservoir.

Holidaymakers from Campingplatz Gunzenberg may use the moorings on the grounds of the campsite.

Papa-Jo windsurf and sailing school, located on the Schloßhalbinsel peninsula at Helmsgrün, is on hand for those wishing to learn how to sail or to hire rigs and dinghies.
